Parental Consent is Here – Are you ready?

New Changes are coming to the Connecticut School Based Medicaid Program. Are you ready and are you following all rules and regulations necessary to continue submitting claiming for Medicaid reimbursement?parental consent, Medicaid reimbursement revenue

The July 1st Parental Consent deadline is approaching rapidly for our Connecticut school districts. As Connecticut school districts prepare for the end of the school year please don’t forget to obtain your parental consent to ensure that there will be minimal disruption to your Medicaid claiming.

Did you know that if parental consent is not obtained by July 1st, districts should not be submitting claims for Medicaid reimbursement? With proper documentation claims can be held and once the consent is obtained services may be submitted up to one year retroactively. Documentation of consent is crucial to the district following all guidelines issued by your State Medicaid Agency.

Districts should be obtaining parental consent for all students receiving “medically necessary" or health-related services in their IEP. This will ensure that if students are either currently Medicaid eligible or may in the future become eligible, their services will be logged and are claimable retroactively for one year upon obtaining the consent.

While Districts are faced with tight budgets and struggling to find additional revenue to meet their needs, CompuClaim can offer you the best solutions to maintain documentation and ensure that your district meets all federal rules and regulations.
