The last few weeks in June are a time for our Connecticut Districts to complete tasks for the end of the year. Districts across the State are finshing up school budgets, completing projects,
getting ready for their summer programs and beginning to prepare for the upcoming school year.
All of this multi tasking is daunting but our districts have learned to manage and process these tasks so they are prepared for the challenges ahead each year. To add to already long lists our CT districts have recently been informed that the newest change to the CT school based Medicaid program will begin this fall.
Training is being provided on July 15, 2014 and districts currently enrolled in the program should try to attend this scheduled workshop. Districts must sign up for the workshop to be able to participate. Instructions and training will provide the Time Study Coordinators an overview of the process, valuable information pertaining to start up, ongoing tasks, reporting and information for using the RMTS on line system.

What is the Random Moment Time Study and how does it work?
The RMTS is a process in which individuals are randomly selected to complete the time study. The number of individuals selected will be based on the number of moments needed to ensure a statistically valid statewide time study sample. The RMTS includes 3 mutually exclusive statewide cost pools – (a) Administrative only, (b) Nursing, Psychological and Medical Services, and (c) Therapy Services.
The RMTS is a simple to follow system where participants are asked 3 questions and will answer the questions using a drop down menu based upon their job description and the pool to which they are assigned. There is NO coding of activities as in the past.
Preparing ahead of time will help make this a smooth transition for your providers. This summer additional information will be sent to the districts with further instructions.Make sure your staff looks for this notification in their emails. Requests were made from DSS to complete your contact information to be submitted by June 27, 2014.
This information will help make sure the appropriate staff is notified for Cost reports, time studies and all pertinent information related to the school based child health program.(SBCH)
We bring vast experience working with our districts in many States using this methodology of RMTS. If you need any assistance we are here to help offer guidance and support.
