Get Ready Connecticut District SnapShot Request is Here

Posted by Pam Katz, CompuClaim on Wed, May 21, 2014

Our Connecticut school districts have been informed by the Department of Social Services (DSS) that documentation for your 2013-2014 Cost Reports needs to be obtained with a snapshot on   June 3, 2014.CT Snapshots are Here

Districts received email notification from Jennifer Pardus (DSS) on Friday, May 16, 2014 outlining documentation needed for Medicaid eligibility verification and for snapshots to assist you with your 2013-2014 cost report submissions.

In order for a district to complete cost reports for reconciliation and settlement and to validate their interim payments for the CT School Based Medicaid program they are required to maintain and document this information.

Please click on this link for a list of validation requirements that the district will need to obtain for the June 3, 2014 snapshot.

Many districts have questioned why they need to obtain documentation of all students that are enrolled in district schools, out of district placement facilities or any program that the student currently attends.

Under current HIPAA and FERPA guidelines districts only should have eligibility verification for students attending their own facilities or in programs that the district is financially responsible for. By gathering the data requested by DSS the district will be able to load their list of students into a system that is currently being developed by HP which will verify each district's eligibility for their own students. This documentation will be maintained by each district and is not submitted to DSS directly.

Part of the 2013-2014 cost report requirements is to gather this data during a specific date determined by DSS for the school year. DSS has requested that the documentation requested be held by the district until further instructions are provided.

  • Our CompuClaim team will be assisting our districts with instructions on how to gather your required documentation. We will be posting this information in the next few days.
  • If you did not receive notification of this documentation please notify Jennifer Pardus at DSS.SBCH@ct.gov
Please contact us if you need any assistance or guidance.
