Random Time Studies, Validation of time study documents in CT

This week our Connecticut school districts will begin documenting their daily activities for their Random Time Study submissions.

Participants have been selected by the State and disticts were informed Friday evening which staff members would be participating in the studies which begin this Wednesday, February 5, 2014.

Today's snow storm has added to the pressure that many of our districts are facing with school closures and staff not being able to receive the required information needed to distribute to their staff.

The following schedule has been established by the Department of Social Services (DSS) and all districts are required to submit this documentation which is part of a district's enrollment with the School Based Medicaid program (SBCH).

School districts will be notified at some time today with links for instructions and workbooks which will be posted on the DSS website.

The timestudy is a five day account of staff's activities that are performed during their actual paid time for the day. In addition to staff recording their time our Best Practice recommendation is for the district to maintain validation documentation. This ensures the district will always have documentation on file in the event that your staff leaves the district for any reason.

This documentation can be captured in many ways and with the assistance of our New Britain Medicaid Coordinator Jennifer Douyard we are sharing tips for you to share with your staff on how to maintain proper documentation in case of a request for validation from the State.
