"Medicaid claiming is probably one of the most challenging services offered by the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center-Greenbush.  The complexity of State and Federal regulations coupled with the need to help school personnel understand the intricacies of the claiming process is ongoing.  

The old saying "if something was easy everybody would want to do it" certainly applies to Medicaid.  However, at the center of Medicaid is not the mountain of regulations, audits, and oversight, rather, it represents the ability to provide services and support to students in need.  

All too often Medicaid is viewed as a financial endeavor or even a fiscal panacea  and, while Medicaid certainly involves a tremendous level of financial accounting, it is vital that students and parents remain as the focus of any Medicaid service. The realization that claiming services provided to schools and special education agencies results in critical speech, PT, OT, and other eligible services to children is the highest reward that can be received by a Service Agency".
